Hi, we're JOMEY
|
AKA Jorja Hudson and Ethan David, a screenwriting and filmmaking duo who met in the New York sketch comedy scene during the *before times.*
There, we created the web series Low Budget Sketch Show, which ran online for two seasons, a Christmas special and a Dropout collab. We also wrote, produced and directed satirical videos for The New York Post's Internet Action Force, comedic branded campaigns, and a bunch of other stuff our parents still ask us about. Our half-hour comedy pilot script 'Twentysomething Divorce Club' earned a tableread at Catalyst Festival, from which we were commissioned to adapt a short story into a romantic comedy feature for Five Acre Films. Now based in LA, we've written features and pilots that are in various stages of writing and development, and are currently on the festival circuit with our satirical short film 'Homebodies'. Our work has been written up in Vulture, IndieWire, The A.V. Club, The Observer and more. We tell relatable, character-driven stories aimed at a mainstream audience that explore recognizable tropes in a new (sometimes existential) way and - most importantly - make people feel seen. |
